To focus on the upper back place the incline of two or four tennis balls at one end towards the head. Place your hands out to the sides with your palms facing up allow your shoulder to drop towards the floor.
To work the higher end of the upper back, bend the knees with the feet flat on the floor and raise the hips up. This will focus on the upper back and base of the neck areas.
To focus on the lower back place the incline towards the feet near the belt line. You can also bend the knees with the feet flat on the floor and gently rock a little side to side.
